In the village where the first three killings took place, she discovers that the locals are certain that the British soldier was innocent. The facts will damn Wade even as they reveal a brutal reality, a reality that could have been her own fate. Efisio then attempts to involve a young carabiniere to make him witness the man's confession, and, during a country party, tries to tease him. A decade later, tending to the wounded on the battlefields of France during World War I, Bess learns from a dying Indian sergeant that the supposed murderer, Lieutenant Wade, is alive—and serving at the Front. And impressed by the strength and dedication to freedom by the people of Poland.

The normality of the events is broken by the release, for the amnesty wanted by the pope, of the beautiful Domenicangela Piras, the turbulent girlfriend of Efisio convicted for having hurt him with a billhook. But, Bess won't give up. A decade later, tending to the wounded on the battlefields of France during World War I, Bess learns from a dying Indian sergeant that the supposed murderer, Lieutenant Wade, is alive—and serving at the Front. Dominicangela, in fact, is pregnant and everyone is questioning the identity of the father. For a while, they were feted throughout Britain but their celebrity was short-lived.

During the wedding celebrations of Efisio and Domenicangela, she gets rid of those pants, throwing them in the street. A Question of Honor begins on the day Wade is eventually declared dead. Bess Crawford enjoyed a wondrous childhood in India, where her father, a colonel in the British Army, was stationed on the Northwest Frontier. The carabiniere does not understand a word, and immediately after, the murder is killed by a rival. Born in India of British parents, he'd finally settled in England.

A question of honor book

After all, what father wouldn't insist his second son redeem the family honour, go to battle school and use the Science for military purposes, and then pack him off to the salt mines his uncle runs for 'hardening'?

It showed most clearly in his writing. And, he is presumed dead after a while when no traces of him are found. In the village where the first three killings took place, she discovers that the locals are certain that the British soldier was innocent.

I turned to look too, thinking as I had on other visits how really beautiful the Kipling house was. All rights reserved. Otherwise I liked the story. A decade later Bess learns from a dying man in France that Lieutenant Wade could be still alive Shelves: read In A Question of Honor, we start the story in India, where Bess as a child learns that Lieutenant Wade, a man in her father's regime has killed both his parents in India and threepeople in England, but he disappears before they catch him.

According to reliable reports, Wade's body had been seen deep in the Khyber Pass, where he had died trying to reach Afghanistan. What had driven a good man to murder in cold blood? Only then can they focus on building a future together. Simon smiled.

For Simon's sake—as well as her own? The war was cer- tain to end before very long—the arrival of the American forces under General Pershing was helping turn the tide at last—but until it did, Simon would be in the thick Continues And we learn what happened to them after the war, when their country was abandoned and handed over to the Soviet Union.

Like Melinda Crawford, he'd put down roots in this cooler climate, but a part of his heart was still in the East. Was that why she wished to return to India?

A QUESTION OF HONOR: Harlequin comics

I don't normally read short stories, but this is the first installment of what promises to be an exciting series by my favorite author, so I made an exception for this one and I'm glad I did.

On a par with the recent best-sellers about the fighting men of World War II."A Question of Honour" is a single by soprano Sarah Brightman, from her album hildebrandsguld.com peaked at No. 15 on the German Singles Chart in the last week ofeven though it was released over five months earlier.

" A Question of Honour" was also the official song of the championship boxing match between Henry Maske and Graciano Rocchigiani in Germany. In Japan, TV Asahi adopted the song Genre: Classical Crossover. A Question Of Honor () About book: He recognised the words but they just did not make any sense.

Or, rather, they did make sense but not one he dared to put his trust in.

A Question of Honor (Swords & Salt, Tale 1)

‘Nabil has renounced her—revoked the marriage agreement,’ his father stated again, holding out the sheet of paper he had been reading from.

A Question of Honor is a reprint from Love & Glory series, first published in June Noah is a U.S. Coast Guard Lieutenant.

Noah has had to work a lot harder than most for his position and for the respect of others because his brother Morgan has been labeled a traitor by his country/5(3).

A Question of Honor. Orders were orders, but battle-weary undercover agent Kit Anderson chafed at seeking refuge from death threats in the house of her new boss, Coast Guard Lieutenant Noah Trayhern.

Noah's cold authority masked inner demons to rival her own; his rough kindness sliced through her careful defenses. In the case of "A Question of Honor," the story was only semi-gripping for me.

First, I have read all of the Bess Crawford books so I know the drill by now. She is a nurse during WWI, working in field hospitals in France, encountering people with strange stories to tell that necessitate her moving back and forth between France and hildebrandsguld.com by: 6.
